Privacy policy

The Creative Place ("we") runs this website and our workshops at 444 Estudillo Ave, Suite E, San Leandro, CA 94577. This policy explains what we collect and how we use it.

What we collect

  • When you book: your name, email, phone number, the names and ages of participants, an emergency contact for minors, and any notes you give us (for example, allergies).
  • On your device: after you book, your browser keeps your name, email, phone and the names of the people you booked for, so your next booking starts filled in. This stays on that device; "Not you?" on the booking form clears it.
  • When you pay: payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number.
  • When you join our email list: your email address, language preference, and when and how you signed up.
  • When you visit: the pages you view, the link or site that brought you, your IP address, your browser and device, and your approximate location based on your IP address. Cookies let us recognize your device when you come back, for up to a year. If you book, join our list or write to us, we note how you found us, and we connect a booking to your earlier visits. We use this to understand how people find us and to keep the site secure. We keep visit records for 13 months and don't share them. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we don't recognize your device or keep your IP address or browser details. We don't use advertising trackers.

How we use it

To run your booking, send confirmations and reminders, contact you about changes to a workshop, answer your questions, and, if you joined our list, send news about workshops. You can unsubscribe from our emails at any time with the link in every email.

Text messages

If you agree to receive text messages from us, we use your mobile number only to send the messages you agreed to. We do not share or sell mobile phone numbers or text-message opt-in data with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Reply STOP to stop messages and HELP for help. Who we share it with

Only the services that help us run the studio: Stripe (payments), our email provider (sending email), our text-message provider (sending texts) and our hosting provider. They may use your information only to provide those services to us. We do not sell your personal information.

How long we keep it

We keep booking records for as long as we need them for taxes and accounting, generally up to 7 years. You can ask us to delete your information sooner unless the law requires us to keep it.
