About us
The Creative Place is a bilingual sewing and craft studio in downtown San Leandro. We teach sewing, embroidery, crochet and arts and crafts to toddlers, kids, teens and adults, in English and in Spanish.
We started the studio as two East Bay moms who homeschool our own kids and wanted a place where families could make things together. Workshops stay small, about 10 students at most, so everyone gets real help at the machine.
How workshops work
- Every workshop includes the supplies you need: fabric, thread, patterns and tools.
- Many workshops are taught in Spanish, and every workshop welcomes Spanish speakers.
- Some workshops, like Sewing 101, meet once a week for a few weeks. Others are a single session.
