Sunday Sewing 101: Four-Week Beginner Course

Have you always wanted to learn how to sew but didn’t know where to begin? Sewing 101 at The Creative Place is designed for complete beginners! Over four Sundays, you’ll learn the essential foundations of hand and machine sewing while completing a new project each week.

No previous sewing experience is required. We provide all materials, tools, and sewing machines—you simply need to come ready to learn!

Course Schedule:

Sundays, September 13–October 4 11am-1pm

September 13: Hand-Sewing Fundamentals Learn essential stitches, including the running stitch, backstitch, whipstitch, and ladder stitch, while completing a felt project.

September 20: Sewing Machine Basics Learn the parts of a sewing machine, how to thread the machine, wind and insert a bobbin, control your stitching, and sew basic seams while creating a decorative pillow.

September 27: Zipper Pouch Learn how to install a zipper and construct a fully finished fabric pouch.

October 4: Apron and Bias Tape Learn how to work with bias tape, attach a pocket, create ties, and use topstitching while completing your own apron.

Free parking is available in our private parking lot directly behind the building.

For everyone’s safety, closed-toe shoes are required inside the studio.
