During this 2 hour workshop, our instructor will work with you on the areas where you need support. You can ask questions, practice techniques, troubleshoot problems, and better understand the steps required to complete your project.

Understanding your sewing pattern or instructions
Measuring, marking, and cutting fabric
Pinning and sewing pieces together
Seam allowances and finishing techniques
Installing zippers, elastic, pockets, or bias tape
Sewing curves, corners, hems, and topstitching
Machine threading, tension, and troubleshooting
Using a domestic sewing machine, industrial machine, or serger
Correcting mistakes and planning your next steps

What to Bring

Please bring:

Your sewing project if you have one- fabric, zippers, buttons etc (unless you want us to provide them which we will ask you upon you registering)
Pattern and project instructions (unless we are to provide the pattern which we will ask you about)
Fabric and coordinating thread
Zippers, buttons, elastic, interfacing, or other necessary notions
Any pieces you have already cut or sewn
Your sewing machine or we can use ours

Domestic sewing machines and basic sewing tools are available at the studio. We will ask you in advance if you need to use our industrial sewing machine or serger.

Important Information

This is a 2hr guided workshop but depending on the project, you may need to purchase more time. The amount completed will depend on the project’s difficulty and its current stage. Our goal is to help you understand the process, overcome challenges, and leave knowing how to continue your project confidently.

Parking is available behind the building. Our studio is upstairs and accessible by stairs only. It is currently not wheelchair or stroller accessible.
